My 14th, Takamine EG361SC the most recent purchase got it a few months ago...primaryly for recording as i don't really play much acoustic stuff (i also can't play much acoustic stuff :P) ..so i did a little search on the Takamine site and found its birth date:
"The guitar was manufactured Tuesday, July 17th, 2007. It was the 97th guitar made that day."
that makes it 17072007, 97th guitar!
think i won't buy anymore guitars in 2008...... ;D

this guitar is really playable, action is low..i didn't need to adjust it..
i believe it is worth the money it is quite well-constructed & is a good-looker, but i'm not really an expert in acoustic guitars, i've only had a Cort Earth before this Takamine...so it is better that you checkout some other online reviews so you dont be disappointed,
