Favorite Albums: Eternal Tears of Sorrow – A Virgin And A Whore [2001]

“A Virgin And A Whore” is my favorite album from finnish melodic-death metal band Eternal Tears of Sorrow (ETOS).

It was their fourth album and it topped the Finnish Album Top 40 charts, ETOS disbanded after this album but reformed in 2005 and have since released 2 more albums…

What set this album apart from the rest is the mastery of keyboardist Pasi Hiltula and guitarist Antti Kokko (Kalmah), unfortunately both musicians left the band after recording this album.

“Secret of the Runes” is my favorite album from Swedish symphonic metal band Therion.

The thing that sets this album apart are Kristian Niemann’s uniquely melodic solos that fit beautifully into the songs.
