Jamming @ Fyeworks! Studios
Jammed at Fyeworks! Studios earlier since Odiocrib is having another gig at their studio.
It is quite near to Kallang MRT, just about 5mins walk.
We jammed at what i believe is the bigger studio (there are 2 studios there), it really is big!great size!!
There’s a nice couch & fan too…
here’s the house guitars:
(one’s a TGM not sure about the other, the house bass guitar is also a TGM)
Vocal equipment:
Bass Amp:
(Carvin amp & Ashdown speakers, unfortunately we can’t seem to get it to sound loud enough..)
Guitar Amps:
(The Marshall Halfstack that i didn’t use)
Steve Vai’s signature Carvin Legacy!
This is the 1st time i’ve played through a Legacy, it has a pretty raw sound, cuts through very well….so well that i can’t hear the bass.
Drums:
(Premier drums, think its a 7-piece set with Paiste cymbals, apparently too big for my drummer!)
All in all pretty good experience at Fyeworks, but the bass level is a problem…

Famous Picks –> BB King
BB King is 84 this year, he is still actively performing, although his last album “Riding with the King” was released in the year 2000.

A New Beginning!
Finally, i’ve gotten into property…viewed 4 condos & a HDB flat yesterday.
It was tiring working from 9am to 10pm, but then again it kinda didn’t feel like work…since we’re always running around outside.
I definitely prefer this to working a 9-5 office job anytime!
(pictured above is one of the new condos we brought out client to view. It is called the Metropolitan, located in district 03, right beside Redhill MRT)

Jason Becker Signature
Here’s Jason Becker’s signature guitar made by Paradise Guitars.
Features an alder body, maple neck, floyd rose bridge & DiMarzio pickups.
I’m not really into the design, looks kinda “kiddy”, but i guess hardcore fans will dig it.
Becker also has a signature distortion pedal out, it is made by the ProTone company. (which has also made a signature overdrive pedal for Rusty Cooley.)
The artwork on the pedal is painted by Jason’s father Gary Becker, it features 2 switches, 1 for the “Burn” channel (Overdrive) and the other for the “Drive” channel (Distortion)

Calvin Chiang
Calvin Chiang is a local guitarist with the band Raspatul & Obliterhate. He is my favorite local guitarist, he’s guitar riffs are wicked and very unique.
I’m not very sure about the status of Raspatul, as unfortunately the vocalist Ayim, passed away in 2005.
Obliterhate consists of:
Calvin Chiang - Guitars
Dan Swanö (Nightingale, ex-Edge Of Sanity, ex-Bloodbath) - Vocals
Erik Sayenga (Warthrone, ex-Dying Fetus) - Drums
Terry Butler (Six Feet Under, ex-Death, ex-Massacre) - Bass
Mirai Kawashima (Sigh, Necrophagia) - Keyboards
Jeff Becerra (Possessed) - Lyrics
Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Demiurg) - Lyrics and vocal arrangements
[James Murphy (Disincarnate, ex-Death, ex-Testament) also contributed a guest guitar solo for the song “Dawn Of Extermination”]
Calvin Chiang is endorsed by Monson Guitars, a guitar company from USA.
I don’t know much about this guitar company but their designs look more wicked & pointy than BC Rich guitars!
