Jimmy Chamberlin is the ex-drummer of The Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan & The Last Hard Men.
He is currently active with his own group, The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex which he formed back in 2004.
In 2005, Chamberlin & Corgan reformed The Smashing Pumpkins but he eventually left again in March this year.
Chamberlin was originally trained as a jazz drummer, he has been compared to jazz drummer Dennis Chambers for his "quick hands, furious snare rolls, and crackling rimshots." He is one of the few hard rock drummers to combine a driving backbeat with jazz-like flourishes.
In 2008, Gigwise.com named Jimmy Chamberlin the 5th best drummer of all time, only Neil Peart (Rush), Danny Carey (Tool), Keith Moon (The Who) and John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) were ranked ahead of him.
