Gettin’ Jiggy wit Lincoln
Zeitgeist
I watched both parts of this film yesterday,
Zeitgeist – touches on religion (especially Christianity), 9/11 & the US relationship with the Federal Reserve Bank
Addendum – touches on the process of fractional-reserve banking, the Economic Hit-man & a "resource-based economy" envisioned by industrial designer/social engineer Jacque Fresco
thought provoking and extremely disturbing if what it purports is true…
information about both parts can be found on wiki:

Jimmy Chamberlain leaves the Pumpkins..
From Chamberlain’s blog:
"By now you have heard the news of my departure from the Smashing Pumpkins. I will say, without going into any unnecessary details that this represents a positive move forward for me. I can no longer commit all of my energy into something that I don't fully possess. I won't pretend I'm into something I'm not. I won't do it to myself, you the fan, or my former partner. I can't just, 'Cash the check' so to speak.
"My best goes out to Billy and I'm glad he has chosen to continue under the name. It is his right. Music is my life. It is sacred. It deserves the highest commitment at every level and the Pumpkins are certainly no different. I'm sorry but it really IS that simple. There is no drama, bad blood, or anything else but a full commitment to music."
This is certainly a great loss, for me Chamberlain is the 2nd most influential member in the Pumpkins after Corgan, and he remains one of my favorite rock drummers of all-time.
Is Corgan goin’ to return to using drum-machines again??
i hope not…

Guitar Idol
stumbled onto this site..didn’t know there was an online guitar idol contest..haha
Prizes include:
Marshall JVM410H Full Stack
Blackstar HT-5S Amp
Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette
Mayones Regius 7 Guitar Idol Custom Model……..& more…
the Mayones guitar has a custom guitar idol inlay..
checked out some of the entries…most of ‘em are the same mindless “shreddy” type players…
But, in last year’s contest there was a monster of a player in Fernando Miyata:
its amazing the amount of different techniques he managed to throw into that song & still sound so good..
strangely, he didn’t win the 2008 contest, i wonder why?
Gibson DSRX Reverse Explorer
First they reversed the Ibanez Iceman (Fireman),
now its the Reverse Explorer from Gibson…
there are some cool looking features like the textured pickguard covers and the lightning-bolt carbon-fibre pickguard, but i still think its pretty ugly as a whole :P
& they also have these strange gearless tuners…unfortunately i couldn’t find close-up pictures of ‘em.
guess they’re really running outta ideas for new guitar shapes…

[#3] Jamming @ Chapter6 Studios
Went jamming at Chapter6 Studios, 141 Jalan Besar, the other day…booked Midas Studio at the Attic.
First impressions…it was very clean (maybe cuz they’re new), staff/owners seem like genuine friendly people…
The room was of decent size, but could be bigger..we’re a 5-piece band it was abit cramp for us.
GEAR:
Guitar Amps: Vox Valvetronic AD100VT-XL, Marshall AVT Tribute 100
Bass Amp: Hartke 112 Hydrive 250 watts
Drum Set: TAMA Superstar 5pc Drum Set (iirc can request for iron cobra double pedal)
again decent stuff…..but i’ve gotten used to the half-stacks available @ other studios, which are charging the same prices for their rooms.
sorry for the lack of pictures, forgot to take :P
