The OLP brand has been retired

Just realise this when i navigated to OLP's website that the brand has been retired this year(2009), they're best known for manufacturing affordable copies of the MusicMan brand of bass guitars, pictured below is mine an OLP MM2 (which might be for sale! contact me if you're interested to own this bass guitar!)

OLP stands for "Officially Licensed Product."

Joe Satriani forms Chickenfoot?

Chickenfoot(?) is a new supergroup which consists of Vocalist Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen), bassist Michael Anthony (ex-Van Halen), guitarist Joe Satriani and drummer Chad Smith (RHCP).

I'm not sure if that's the official name for the band as Satch commented that it is just a temporary name, the album is expected to be released around April 2009.

Checkout the interview with "The Bone", Satch talks about Chickenfoot, Metallica, Kirk Hammett, Guitar Lessons.....while repairing a guitar ;)

Paul Gilbert's Airplane Flanger

After the EQ-pedal, Guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert gets another new toy, the Airplane Flanger from Ibanez.

This is a 2-in-1 pedal (Chorus+Flange).

There's 2 sections:
- "TAXI" [traditional flange sounds]
- "TAKEOFF" [like an "auto-whammy", the flanger takes over the guitar signal and produces a massive, pitch-shifting note]

BOSS introduces GIANT tuner

Chicago Iron Tycobrahe Octavia Reproduction
C.A.E./ MXR MC-401 Boost/Line-Driver
Dunlop Q-Zone
C.A.E./ MXR MC-402 Boost/Overdrive
Line 6 Mod Pro Studio Modeler
Line 6 Echo Pro Studio Modeler

Famous Pedalboards -> Mikael Åkerfeldt

Mikael Åkerfeldt leader of Monster band Opeth, he is one of my favorite musicians of all-time.

Although the songs he writes are complex, Åkerfeldt's gear is surprising 'simple' & straight-forward, his main effects unit is the Boss GT series multi-effects.

Guitar Hero...for REAL??

Disney Star Guitarist

Unlike the current Guitar Hero game, Disney's Star Guitarist uses a real guitar, you get a 3/4-sized Disney guitar made by the Washburn company.

But you can also string your very own guitar with the special strings which are included with the $200 game which will be released for both PC and Mac.

This looks aot more practical compare to the lameass plastic buttons of the current game.

Hong Kong / Macau Trip 2008

Havent been overseas in ages, this was a very welcomed trip, got to relax & see what its like in HK & Macau.

Looking forward to another trip!

Effect Pedals - #26 - Radial Tonebone Trimode

Number 26, Radial Tonebone Trimode.

I was so happy with the Tonebone Classic i decided to upgrade to this Trimode which even has its own effects loop...how cool is that!?

It is extremely extremely versatile with the 2-channels, and you can also further tweak the amount of gain turning the "screw"(?) on the side.

I put it beside my Tonebone Classic & tweaked it till it sounded exactly the same as i got used to that sound, then i sold off my Tonebone Classic.

Effect Pedals - #25 - Analogman CompRossor

Number 25, the AnalogMan CompRossor.

This is one of the few boutique pedals that i own.

Yes, its a great compresser pedal, very clear sound, quiet & it enhances your sound nicely with rich sustain

Effect Pedals - #24 - ISP Decimator

Number 24, the ISP Decimator, noise reduction pedal.

this is one of those highly regarded noise gates, from my personal experience it works great when you have less than 2 noisy pedals in your chain. More than that it might not be able to kill the noise.

It doesn't color your tone as much as other noise gates and there really isn't any noise when its active.

Effect Pedals - #23 - Radial Tonebone Classic

Number 23,

is the Radial Tonebone Classic equipped with a 12AX7 vacuum tube,

this pedal blew me away when i first played through it.

It was the first time i actually heard creamy tube tone.

This pedal is fantastic for John Petrucci, Andy Timmons type lead-tone.

It is extremely versatile with the "top end", "mid boost" & "drive gain" settings available to tweak to your desired sound.

It is no doubt one of the top tube equipped pedals out there.
